Upton-by-Chester Village Hall

Vision statement for the next 10 – 20 years

·        To establish and maintain a local community pride and widespread involvement in our Village Hall – preserving the Period architecture of the building and much of its interior while developing the facilities to exceed the expectations of existing and of potential regular users.

This policy should ensure on-going demand on bookings even in the face of potential competition from similar local facilities or due to any decline of our existing user base. It is understood that maintenance costs will rise to meet the higher standards but the belief is that this can very adequately be met by achieved higher income.

·        The focus will continue to be on regular bookings.

One-off events such as private celebration functions are served by a number of other establishments in the area. However where availability allows such bookings may be taken if this is not detrimental to the regular user groups.
The Hall is not seen as a Community Centre in the sense of a ‘drop in ‘ facility.

·       Both the functional utilisation of the Hall and its operation will be under constant review to maximise the benefits to all regular user groups.

·        The Hall will evolve to provide these developing facilities
–
often as a gradual process but occasionally via refurbishment projects during which disruption to users will be minimised.
